Braintree Revamps SDK, Introduces PayPal Integration
PayPal (an eBay company now) acquired Braintree about 9 months ago and for obvious reasons. The company intended to use Braintree’s innovations to strengthen its position in the mobile marketplace.
Braintree was acquired for $800 million (cash) but it was only recently that the acquired company made its first big announcement. It has released a new version of its SDK (Software Development Kit) but it’s not a mere upgrade. The company has literally revamped the SDK in order to adjust itself to the ongoing mobile revolution.
According to the official blog post, the company, the company has focused on making it easier for developers to integrate and extend the platform. The new SDK has even been rechristened now – they’re going to call it V.ZERO.
Among the many features of v.zero that low and high risk merchants from around the world will benefit from, Drop-in UI is probably the best. With Drop-in User Interface, developers will no longer need to develop new UIs from scratch. They can just customize the interface to suit their unique needs. Bill Ready, company’s CEO in an official blog post mentioned that people can get the payment system up and running in as little as 15 minutes!
He claimed that using Braintree’s SDK for processing online payments, whether on the web or a mobile app through PayPal was as easy as adding a PayPal button on the site!
Braintree rose to popularity due to its simple and single-click payment platforms. Even now, the company is doing just that.
